YOUR MESSAGES STAY YOURS
Privacy, plainly.
Updated October 7, 2026. Zurcit is an iPhone spam-reporting utility with an optional community call directory. The prototype is in development.
What a report sends
A random report ID, selected category, communication type (SMS or call), selected-message count, and requested reporting action go to Zurcit’s AWS service. We do not include message contents, attachments, your own phone number, contacts, or inbox data.
The sender’s phone number is sent only if you turn on “Share number for community review.” Sharing is off by default. Once reviewed, a shared number and its submission count can be publicly visible in the app and on this website. A count is not a count of unique people or independent proof of spam.
What stays on your phone
Recent history includes the reported sender, category, time, sharing choice, and requested action. It is shown for up to 30 days and limited to 200 entries. Expired local entries are removed when history is next loaded. You can clear it in Recent reports, or erase local history and community selections under Help → Erase local app data. This does not undo system blocks or delete already-submitted anonymous reports. Selected community call-block numbers stay in shared app storage so the Call Directory extension can use them. Zurcit cannot read or change your existing system blocked-contact list.
Storage and retention
Reports and community records use encrypted AWS DynamoDB storage. Active reports are set to expire after 30 days; a new submission refreshes a community number’s expiration. Expired numbers are hidden by the API immediately, while AWS may take additional time to physically delete expired rows. Recovery backups may retain removed records for up to 35 additional days. Infrastructure error logs are retained for 14 days; request bodies and message contents are not logged by this app.
The hosting and network providers may process IP addresses and connection metadata to deliver and protect the service. We do not sell your data, run advertising trackers, or create a Zurcit account, including guest accounts. The App Store purchase does not create a Zurcit account. Apple handles the system reporting and blocking flow under its own policies. Local files may be included in your device’s Apple backup depending on your settings.
Correct a community listing
Numbers may be reassigned, and reports can be wrong. Request review below for a number that is incorrectly listed or now belongs to a different owner. Requests are stored for up to 30 days and reviewed by the operator; submitting a request does not automatically remove a number or unblock it on anyone’s phone.
Undoing a block
Search Settings for Blocked Contacts to remove a system block. For community call blocks, deselect the number in Zurcit and tap Apply. Clearing report history does not unblock numbers. Read the recovery guide.
Price
The planned App Store price is $3 paid once, with no subscription. Apple processes the purchase; Zurcit does not collect payment-card details. The app is not available for purchase yet. Final storefront pricing is configured at release.
