What we store, and why.
Zurcit uses the information needed to run your account and the features you choose. An account needs a verified email and account identifier. Connected cameras send their name, device identifier, connection status and, when available, battery and charging status. These let you recognize your cameras and use them across your devices.
Photos, video clips and recording backups are saved when your plan and enabled features provide them. Cloud media is private, protected in transit and encrypted in storage. Camera detection runs on your device; we do not identify faces or send a continuous camera feed to an AI recognition service.
Free provides live viewing and on-camera motion indication without saved events or recording. Scout and Guardian add the recording and alert features described in our plan comparison. Temporary live-video data may pass through our service to connect authorized viewers, even when you are not saving a recording.
We do not sell personal information or camera content, use your footage for advertising, or train general-purpose AI on it. The native app has no advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.
You decide who can view.
Your camera views and saved media are available to your signed-in account and the people you choose to authorize. Sharing lets you select cameras, permissions and an expiry. You can remove access early. A helper’s access does not include continuous recording history, deleting your recordings or changing your camera settings.
Zurcit is not a staffed camera-monitoring service. Our account-support tools show account and device status; they do not provide access to live cameras, saved footage or precise camera locations. Using Zurcit does not give our staff access to browse your home network. We cannot retrieve your existing account password.
Keep invitations and private playback links private. Anyone with a valid playback link can open the evidence it covers until it expires or access is removed. People can retain screenshots, downloads and content you send them.
Talk and Listen use microphone permission and your chosen audio settings. Live room audio is enabled separately on the camera and is transmitted while it has a live viewer; it is not added to silent video recordings or saved as room-audio history. Video calls require the camera device to answer and each participant to choose camera and microphone sharing. Zurcit does not record calls.
Voice and location are optional.
Voice alerts
You can enable recognition of saved phrases such as “help help” while Zurcit is open, including while the camera is disarmed. Recognition uses supported on-device speech processing and requires microphone and speech permissions. Temporary recognized words are discarded; the matched saved phrase can appear in the event and enabled notifications.
Save Voice alert audio is a separate choice and starts off. If you turn it on, a phrase match can save up to eight seconds of preceding audio, including nearby voices or sounds. That short recording is saved with the event and can be heard by authorized viewers. Enabled emails can contain an audio attachment and a temporary private playback link. Tell people nearby before enabling audio capture.
Location and maps
Location requires your permission and sharing settings. You can save a camera placement pin or choose to share a device’s GPS location with your account or a helper. These are separate choices. Live GPS sharing updates only while Zurcit is open and online; it keeps the latest shared fix rather than a background route history. Events can save the camera’s available GPS fix or a dated last-known location.
Turn off location sharing to stop updates, and remove a saved placement pin separately if you no longer want it stored. Hiding a map does not stop sharing. Maps and nearby-address searches use Apple’s map services. Locations can be approximate or out of date; recipients can keep information they copy or share.
Other permissions
Camera permission enables the camera. Local Network permission supports direct viewing between your authorized devices. Face ID, Touch ID or a device passcode can protect Dim & lock; Zurcit does not receive your biometrics or device passcode. Depth and lighting checks are processed locally, without uploading depth maps.
How long information stays.
You can delete recordings before their normal expiry. Saved content follows the plan and retention settings active when it was captured; changing plans does not extend earlier events.
Event photos, clips & saved voice audio
Scout: 15 days. Guardian: six calendar months. Older events keep their original expiry.
Continuous recordings
Scout keeps a one-hour loop on the camera. Guardian follows your selected storage limit or eight-hour loop. Guardian backups follow those limits and are accessible for no more than 184 days.
Notification inbox
Notices expire 48 hours after creation, whether read or unread. Saved recordings have their own retention period.
Live sessions & temporary playback
Connection data and temporary live or playback media are short-lived and cleaned up after use or expiry. They are separate from recordings you choose to save.
Account, support & security records
Account details remain while your account is active. Service diagnostics are kept for seven days; limited account-administration audit records for about 13 months. Minimal purchase-verification records may remain to prevent purchase transfers or misuse. These records do not contain camera footage or payment-card details.
Deletion and expiry remove access while background storage cleanup completes. Existing downloaded files, offline-device copies and delivered email attachments remain under the recipient’s control.
Your controls, including deletion.
- Recordings: delete individual events or recordings, or use the recording-storage controls to remove saved footage. Delete local copies and Guardian backups when you want both removed.
- Sharing: revoke an invitation, leave shared access, or stop its location sharing separately. A queued notification may still arrive after access ends.
- Alerts: change email and push choices per camera, and notification or sound settings on each receiving device.
- Account: choose Delete account in the app’s account settings or the web dashboard. You do not need to contact support to delete your account.
Account deletion removes your sign-in account, camera connections, cloud media, saved locations and sharing access. A brief revocation record prevents old sign-in credentials from being reused. Limited security and purchase-verification records described above are retained separately. Local recordings on offline devices and copies already delivered by email must be removed from those devices or mailboxes.
Signing out does not delete your recordings. Deleting your Zurcit account does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage renewal separately in Apple’s subscription settings.
The services that help Zurcit work.
We use Amazon Web Services for private cloud hosting, account services, communications and media connections. Apple supports purchases, maps and push delivery. Optional Apple or Google sign-in provides the identifier and email needed for your account; Zurcit does not receive your Apple or Google password or access to your inbox or contacts. Connection services may receive network addresses needed to establish an authorized live session.
These providers process the information needed for the features they deliver, under their applicable privacy and service terms. Apple handles payment details; Zurcit receives purchase and expiry information to apply your plan, not your card number. Authorized support staff use limited account and security records to manage access, resolve issues and protect the service.
Website measurement is your choice.
Public website pages count page views and App Store clicks. To avoid counting repeated visits, our server uses your IP address to make a keyed code that changes each day; raw IP addresses are not saved in these analytics records. Daily codes are set to expire after three days. Separate keyed network exclusions let our team omit internal testing. These first-party counts include the public page, time, broad traffic source and a campaign or sticker code, and do not include camera content, account email or precise location. You can exclude a browser from these counts using this browser exclusion link; this link resumes counting. That choice is stored on the browser.
Google Ads measurement is optional. We do not load its advertising tag before you allow it. If allowed, Google may receive your IP address, browser/device information, public page and referrer, advertising click identifiers and App Store button-click events. We do not enable personalized advertising or send camera footage, voice recordings, account emails, private links or precise location through this measurement. A button click is not treated as an app installation or purchase.
Your browser remembers your choice for up to 180 days. Use Measurement choices in the footer to change it. Turning measurement off stops future events and removes the conversion cookies this page can access; it does not erase information Google already received. The tag is excluded from sign-in, account, administration and private camera or event pages. See Google’s privacy policy.
